How to create a Curriculum that leaves a mark?

“In terms of the curriculum, there is no universal rule, but there are certain guidelines that must be followed. I believe that a resume should reflect the experience of the person in all its extension, if he has had several jobs, they should include all and reflect the experience that each one has left him. Each job is a master's degree, an apprenticeship. It is not necessary to cling to writing a curriculum in a single page to make it "short", it is necessary to ensure that concrete but sufficient information is included. If too much information is included, we will lose the reader's attention. As a general rule of thumb, two or three pages is quite acceptable. I consider that experience is the heart of the curriculum and it must be given its due importance and treatment, mentioning a brief description of each company in which one has worked, as well as the responsibilities and main achievements in each role. It is very important, when talking about results, to support them with numbers and never falsify or exaggerate information "

Once we know what is the most important and central information in a resume, it is enough to include information that complements and adds to the work experience, such as:

  • Personal data - include the basic data to be able to locate the person, name, city of residence, telephone, cell phone and email. Any other personal data is left over.
  • Academic Preparation - It is one of the first criteria that recruiters and companies use to discriminate or select. Therefore, the importance of preparing by finishing the degree, doing a master's degree, diplomas, specializations, etc. This criterion influences the position to which you aspire and the salary.
  • Skills- Detail the knowledge you have to do the job, the skills that make you better than the rest of the applicants, the software, hardware or machinery that you handle and the qualities that make you a potential candidate .
  • Certifications: Especially if you work in a very technical industry, certifications play a relevant role when being considered for a specific role.
  • Associations and publications: If you are a member of any relevant association within your profession, or if you have publications or have written articles relevant to your role, it is very important that you mention them.

Once you have your resume written, reviewed and corrected, ask a third party to read it to see what impression it makes about you and what you project with the resume you wrote. If you are satisfied, hand it over and wait for that opportunity.
